Man robbed of wallet, pistol outside Little Rock motel, police say

A man was robbed of his wallet and gun outside a Little Rock motel Wednesday afternoon, he told police.

Officers were called about 2 p.m. to the Ritz Motel at 5301 Asher Ave., where the 52-year-old said that a stranger approached him after he left his room to go to a liquor store across the parking lot.

The victim said the assailant, who indicated that he had a weapon, pushed him up against the wall of the store and demanded his belongings, according to the report.

The 52-year-old told police that he dropped a gym bag containing a pistol and medication.

Another robber picked up the bag and ran west, the report states. The first assailant reportedly took the victim's wallet with a debit card and ID and also fled.

Police have named no suspects, and no arrests had been made at the time of the report.
