Nominees sought for women's hall

Nominations for inductees into the Arkansas Women's Hall of Fame are now being accepted, with a deadline of April 6, the organization announced.

The Women's Hall of Fame depends on organizations or individuals to nominate women for induction. A selection committee will review the nominations and pick inductees for 2018.

Nominees aren't limited to a certain field or accomplishment and can include pioneers, philanthropists, educators, entrepreneurs, athletes, artists, business leaders and political figures, according to Hall of Fame criteria.

The project, overseen by a board of directors, began as a partnership between the North Little Rock Chamber of Commerce and Arkansas Business Publishing Group. Former Chamber of Commerce President Terry Hartwick began the effort to create the Women's Hall of Fame and now serves on its board.

The 2018 induction ceremony for the Arkansas Women's Hall of Fame is set for Aug. 30 at the Statehouse Convention Center, Little Rock.

A complete list of criteria, past inductees, nomination forms and ticket information are available online at arwomenshalloffame.com.
