College hosting its 42nd institute

Arkansas Baptist College, 1612 Martin Luther King Drive, will hold its 42nd annual E.C. Morris Ministers' Institute from Sunday through Thursday. The institute will be held in conjunction with the E.K. Flakes/Hazel S. Hynson School of Sacred Music. The theme of this year's institute is "Restoring the Creator-Creature Relations."

Robert Willingham, the institute's coordinator, said between 300 and 400 people are expected to attend from states including Michigan, Louisiana, Mississippi and Texas. The institute was created "to provide fellowship and support to Arkansas Baptist College and to further train lay ministers [and others] from a Baptist perspective," Willingham said.

Speaker D.L. Richardson will begin the institute with Pastoral Support Night at 6 p.m. Sunday at First Baptist Church, 2015 Main St. in North Little Rock. The institute will have evening worship services in the gymnasium Monday through Thursday, morning worship services at 11:45 in the college's Old Main Auditorium from Tuesday through Thursday, Dialogical Lab and Lecture Series Tuesday through Thursday from 10-11:30 a.m. in the gymnasium, and seminars at 6 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday.

Speakers for the institute include Derrick Flowers, Donald Crossley, James Mackey, Corey Wiley, Malik Saafir, Krishna Young, Cynthia Smith, Harry Blake, James Allen, C. Dennis Edwards, Dello Thedford and Rosboro Hendrix.
