Little Rock School District names its teachers of year

Stacey McAdoo, a speech communications and AVID teacher at Central High, was recently named the Little Rock School District's 2018 Teacher of the Year and recipient of the Marian G. Lacey* Educator of the Year award.

Kathleen Mehran, a fifth-grade teacher at Fulbright Elementary School, was named Elementary Teacher of the Year. Amber Harbin, a teacher at Forest Heights STEM Academy, is the district's Middle School Teacher of the Year; and Les Williams, science department chairman and teacher at Parkview Arts and Sciences Magnet High School, is the district's High School Teacher of the Year.

In addition to prizes from Dell, Knowledge Tree and Arkansas Office Products, the teachers received $1,000 for the top award and $500 for subsequent winners. Nearly 70 teachers from schools across the district were honored.
