Donors sought

The Community Blood Center of the Ozarks strives for area blood reserves to be at around a three-day supply for all blood types. A Code Red Alert has been issued for type O negative blood. A combination of higher than normal usage and a lower donation rate over an extended period of time on O negative has led to the appeal. This is a critical shortage and donors are strongly urged to give as soon as possible at an upcoming blood drive or donor center.

Upcoming blood drives include:

Rogers: 2-5 p.m. May 21, Arvest Bank, 201 W. Walnut St.

Bella Vista: 10 a.m.-3 p.m. May 23, Highlands United Methodist Church, 371 Glasgow Road

Fayetteville: 10 a.m.-4 p.m. May 24, Washington County Sheriff's Office, 1155 Clydesdale Drive
