Beaver Lake

Crappie fishing is good shallow and deep at Beaver Lake.

John Newlun at Hook, Line and Sinker in Rogers said crappie can be caught shallow near shore or as deep at 15 feet around docks and brush.

Minnows or jigs are working. A jig with some chartreuse in the color pattern is a good choice. Good fishing reports have come from Horseshoe Bend and Coose Hollow.

Black bass are biting well any way an angler likes to fish. Top-water lures, spinner baits, soft plastics and crank baits are all working.

Mike Whitehouse at Hickory Creek Marina said catfish are biting well on jug lines baited with sunfish on the south end of the lake. Crappie action is hit or miss. Trolling or fishing with a spider rig is the best way to catch them.

Beaver tailwater

Tom Steinke at the Beaver Dam Store said the tailwater level is high. Fishing from a boat is best. Shoreline and wade fishing opportunities are limited.

Use Power Bait, small spoons or small spinner for trout. Walleye and white bass are in the area of the U.S. 62 bridge. Try nightcrawlers or jigs for walleye. Use a white jig or minnow-type lure for white bass.

Lake Fayetteville

David Powell at the lake office said bluegill are close to shore and easy to catch with worms. "This is a great time to take kids fishing for bluegill," he said.

Crappie are biting well on jigs or minnows. Black bass fishing is good with plastic worms.

Swepco Lake

Kenny Stroud in Siloam Springs said black bass are biting a variety of soft plastic lures rigged any way an angler chooses. Top-water lures are also worth a try. Fishing is good day or night.

Illinois River

Stroud said black bass are biting tube baits, grubs, and spinner baits.

Eastern Oklahoma

Stroud said black bass fishing at Lake Eucha is good with jig and pigs worked around lay-down trees. Spinner baits, top-water lures and crank baits are also working.

Table Rock Lake

The Missouri Department of Conservation reports good black bass fishing with Ned rigs in watermelon red color. Work pockets and coves in water that's 10 feet deep.

Crappie fishing is good in the James River arm 10 to 15 feet deep on white jigs.
