Style: Review of 'Solo: A Star Wars Story'

This week in movie world sees Ben Solo’s dad Han getting his origin story told in the exploding inevitable tent pole franchise movie, Solo: A Star Wars Story, which was famously directed by Ron Howard after the guys who made The Lego Movie were fired; Wim Wenders interviewing the Bishop of Rome and ex officio the leader of the worldwide Catholic Church in Pope Francis: A Man of His Word; and (finally) the arrival in Arkansas of one of the best-reviewed movies of 2017, Chloe Zhao’s western drama The Rider.

Our Dan Lybarger takes on the first, while Philip Martin reviews Wenders’ documentary. There’s also an interview with Solo director Howard, a conversation with Wenders and a review of Zhao’s film. Plus Karen Martin’s weekly round-up of home video releases.

All in Friday’s Style section in the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette.
