UAM taps Becker for top finance post

The University of Arkansas at Monticello has hired Alex Becker as vice chancellor for finance and administration, the institution's chief financial officer.

Becker has been at UAM since 2010. He started with the finance and administration's office as an accountant, moved to a project coordinator position in 2011 and assumed the duties of reporting and payroll manager in 2015.

He became business manager in July 2017. Three months later, he became associate vice chancellor for business affairs.

Becker, 32, received a bachelor of liberal arts degree from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock in 2009, a master of business administration degree from Harding University in 2011, and a bachelor's degree in accounting fromUALR in 2015.

He became a certified public accountant in 2017.

He will be paid $125,051 a year.
