Webb Wilder & The Beatnecks, along with opening act The P-47s, will perform at 9 p.m. today at Stickyz Rock 'n' Roll Chicken Shack in Little Rock. Admission is $20.
Wilder, a native of Hattiesburg, Miss., released his debut album, It Came From Nashville, in 1986. He has released 11 more albums, the latest of which -- Powerful Stuff! -- is a collection of unreleased songs of root rock, rhythm and blues and rockabilly sounds.
Wilder (who performed often in central Arkansas in the late 20th century) developed his own "credo" which states "Work hard, rock hard, eat hard, sleep hard, grow big, wear glasses if you need 'em!
Opening act The P-47s was formed in 2011 in Little Rock by former members of Montgomery Trucking: singer Justin McGoldrick and bassist Jimmy Young, who worked as a duo for a time before adding former radio personality Reade Mitchell on guitar and Michael "Bircho" Birch on drums. The group will be joined by saxophonist Brent Bristow and multi-instrumentalist and singer Joseph Fuller. The band will release its second album, Interceptor, in June.
Speedy Ortiz will perform at 9 p.m. Friday. Admission is $15.
Josh Ward, along with opening act Jake Worthington, will perform at 8:30 p.m. Saturday. Tickets are $12 in advance, $15 the day of the show.
