First Baptist Church of Siloam Springs, 2000 Dawn Hill Road, will celebrate its 150th anniversary with a bonfire and cookout at 5:30 p.m. today and a special presentation by the Arkansas Baptist State Convention on Sunday. A lunch will follow the 10:45 a.m. service.
The church was founded in the late summer or early fall of 1868 by a group of believers who met in the Key Stone Lodge, located in the Hico Community, according to a church history book, published by the Rev. Bill Bruster in 1972, commemorating the church's first 100 years. Over the years, church has held services in several buildings and moved in 1997 to its current location.

The Temple Institute of Jerusalem and the Ancient Jerusalem Sifting Project and Temple Mount Sifting Project present Rabbi Chaim Richman and archaeologist Hillel Richman speaking on "The Past, Present and Future of the Holy Temple in Jerusalem: From Destruction to Rebuilding" at 7 p.m. Nov. 7 in the Pinnacle Room at Embassy Suites Convention Center, 3303 Pinnacle Hills Parkway in Rogers. Bella Vista Community Church, 75 E. Lancashire Blvd., has tickets on sale for the Christmas tea. Seatings are at 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. Dec. 1. Tickets cost $10.
The church hosts the Bella Vista Christian Women's Connection at 9 a.m. Nov. 13. The featured speaker is Bella Vista Garden Club member and Master Gardner, Geri Hoerner; she will be speaking on "Getting Your Plants Ready For Winter". The guest speaker is Carrie Kittinger, who comes to us from Tulsa, Oklahoma and the title of her talk is "Broken Hearts Can Be Mended".

The Shepherd's Food Pantry is open from 10 a.m. to noon each Friday. Holiday donations are needed, including canned pumpkin, condensed milk and canned cranberry sauce.

Maple St., plans a reunion for former members of The New Creations, a choir for college-age students who attended the church during their years at the University of Arkansas. The Unitarian Universalist Fellowship in Fayetteville, 901 W. Cleveland, hosts a Social Justice Movie Night from 6 to 9 p.m. Nov. 9.
The social justice committee will be showing "13th." The critically acclaimed documentary explores the history of racial inequality in the U.S., focusing on the fact that the nation's prisons are disproportionately filled with African-Americans. A discussion will follow.
