John Paul White will perform at 7:30 p.m. today at South on Main in Little Rock. Tickets are $36 or $34 reserved and $30 general admission.

White was formerly one-half of the four time Grammy Award-winning duo, The Civil Wars, with Joy Williams. They released five albums between 2009-13, then went their separate ways, and he has since released two solo CDs: The Long Goodbye in 2009 and Beulah in 2016.

He has worked with Rodney Crowell, Rosanne Cash, Jason Isbell, Emmylou Harris and Hiss Golden Messenger. The Wall Street Journal has compared White's "breathy vocals" to fellow fragile troubadours Nick Drake, Jeff Buckley and Elliott Smith, but also notes that "in accent, musical choices and references, John Paul White is decidedly a product of the American South."

Charlotte Taylor will perform at 9 p.m. Friday. Tickets are $8 in advance, $10 the day of the show.
