Crystal Diane Washington - Brandon Paul Lewis

Wedding vows were exchanged by Crystal Diane Washington and Brandon Paul Lewis at 5 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 17, in the Historic Pegasus Room at Magnolia Hotel Dallas Downtown. Officiating was Freeman McKindra II, lead chaplain at Lane College, Jackson, Tenn.

Christine and Gregory Washington of Little Rock are the parents of the bride. She is the granddaughter of Arzina and the late Willie C. Washington of Little Rock and Rosie Lee and the late Fred Jackson of Aliceville, Ala.

The groom is the son of Elaine and Walter Lewis of Pearland, Texas. His grandparents are Fabiola and the late George Lewis and the late Mildred and Leonard Thibodeaux, all of St. Martinville, La.

The ceremony was held in front of an arch decorated with draped fabric and ivory roses.

The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a champagne and ivory mermaid-style gown embellished with lace. She carried a jeweled brooch bouquet centered on ivory roses.

Serving as matron of honor was Anthea Johnson of Atlanta. Bridesmaids were Crystal Scott and Tomelia Hinton, cousin of the bride, both of Dallas; Brittany Powell of Colony, Texas, cousin of the bride; Krystal Gambrell and Jessica Williams both of Atlanta; and Aleshia Childress of Huntsville, Ala. They wore wine-colored gowns with lace sweetheart necklines and ruched waistlines. They carried ivory rose bouquets embellished with gold pearls and jewels.

Best man was Otis Jones II of Houston. Groomsmen were Walter Lewis II of Atlanta and Corey Lewis of Houston, brothers of the groom; Ivan Morin of San Diego; Dr. Kaku Barkoh of The Woodlands, Texas; Ofon Asuquo of Houston; and Chiedozie Okafor of Dallas.

A reception, also at the hotel, was held after the ceremony. Guest tables covered in navy blue linens held arrangements of ivory wedding flowers in gold goblets or geometric-shaped containers. Music was by CB Entertainment. Assisting were Carla Williams and Courtney Smith, cousins of the groom, and Veronica Benton.

The bride has a bachelor's degree in communicative sciences and disorders from Alabama A&M University where she was an executive board member of Alpha Kappa Alpha sorority and was named Miss Sophomore 2004-2005, a member of Kappa Delta Pi International Honor Society in Education and the Speech and Hearing Association of Alabama. She graduated from the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences with a master's degree in speech language pathology and is a speech language pathologist with the Dallas Independent School District.

The groom has a bachelor's degree in civil engineering from Texas A&M University where he was a member and chapter president of Alpha Phi Alpha and the National Society of Black Engineers. He has a master's degree in business administration from Texas Christian University and is a vice president of compliance at Bank of America.

The couple will make their home in Dallas after a honeymoon in Freeport, Bahamas.
