Kate Campbell will perform for the Little Rock Folk Club at 7:30 p.m. Saturday at Hibernia Irish Tavern in Little Rock. Admission is $15, $10 for military (with ID), $8 for students (with ID) and free for accompanied children age 12 and younger.

Campbell, a singer-songwriter who plays guitar and piano, was born in New Orleans in 1961 and now lives in Nashville, Tenn. She released her latest, and 18th, album, Damn Sure Blue, on Sept. 21. The album includes two Johnny Cash tunes: "The Ballad of Ira Hayes" and "Forty Shades of Green."

Her songs have been compared to the literary work of fellow Southerners Eudora Welty, William Faulkner and Flannery O'Connor. One of her songs, "When Panthers Roamed in Arkansas," was included in the first of the Oxford American's music issues. Guests on her albums have included John Prine, Rodney Crowell, Emmylou Harris, Guy Clark, Buddy Miller and Nanci Griffith.

Wilkes, who is best-known for his groups the Legendary Shack Shakers and the Dirt Daubers, released his latest solo album, Fire Dream, earlier this year.

The band, which has a dark culture focus, was created in 2009 by singer and keyboardist Emily Lazar, who has described her creation as something "presented on different media platforms, including music, comic books and live concerts."

Her vision of the project is that of a human grim reaper hybrid, September (Lazar), who travels between the worlds of the living and the dead, giving some souls a second chance.
