MEN'S GOLF

Arkansas Tech finishes third in Missouri

Arkansas Tech University finished third at the Midwest Regional in Eureka, Mo., on Tuesday.

The Wonder Boys shot a 289 in the second round to close out with a 586 for the 36-hole tournament. Lindenwood (Mo.) won with a 577 while Missouri-St. Louis was second with a 583.

Individually, Trevor Brunson (74-72) and Kellen Gray (74-72) of the Wonder Boys finished tied for seventh with a 146. Andre Jacobs finished tied for 11th with a 147. Francois Jacobs finished tied for 15th with a 148.

Reddies second in shortened tournament

Henderson State University finished second in the rain-shortened Holiday Inn Express Classic in St. Joseph, Mo.

The 36-hole tournament was shortened to 18 holes and the Reddies finished with a 287, three strokes back of Washburn's 284. Southern Arkansas University finished sixth with a 292. Harding University finished tied for 12th with a 298.

Mitchell Ford led the Reddies with a 70, which left him tied for sixth overall. Southern Arkansas' Neriah Brown finished tied for ninth with a 71. Hyun Je Lee of Harding finished tied for 25th at 73.

WOMEN'S GOLF

Arkansas Tech takes second place

Arkansas Tech University finished second at the Dallas Baptist Women's Classic in Dallas on Tuesday.

The Golden Suns finished with a 36-hole total of 577 (282-295), falling by eight strokes to Dallas Baptist. Henderson State University finished its second round Tuesday morning with a 611 (307-304) after rain forced the Lady Reddies and five other schools off the course Monday.

The 15 participating schools made it through six holes in the third round Wednesday before play was stopped.

Individually, Arkansas Tech's Peerada Piddon finished third with a 140 (67-73) while Pia Nunbhakdi finished tied for sixth with a 143 (70-73). Jacqueline Klemm finished tied for 11th with a 146 (73-73). Henderson State's Hanna Brauburger finished tied for 12th with a 147 (75-72).

MEN'S SOCCER

UCA, Memphis play to tie

An own goal led to a 2-2 tie between the University of Central Arkansas and Memphis at Stephens Complex in Conway.

At the 62nd minute with Memphis leading 2-1, Central Arkansas' Molad Ankir's strike inside the penalty box ricocheted off a Memphis defender and made its way into the back of the net.

Ole Kjoerholt had UCA's first goal in the 30th minute. Alexandros Ierides and Brantley Brice scored for Memphis (5-3-4).

Central Arkansas (5-4-2) outshot Memphis 28-11.

Lyon shuts out Harris-Stowe State

Estiven Garcia scored one goal and had two assists to lead Lyon College to a 3-0 victory over Harris-Stowe State University on Tuesday in Batesville.

Ignacio Milla and Emanuel Santos had the other two goals for the Scots (6-6, 4-3 American Midwest Conference).

Gianni Santin had his second consecutive shutout and third of the season.

UCA's Anderson wins weekly award

Kasper Anderson of the University of Central Arkansas was named offensive player of the week by the Missouri Valley Conference on Tuesday.

Andersen had a goal and two assists in the Bears' 3-2 victory over Evansville on Saturday.

OBU players win GAC awards

Ouachita Bapist University's Blain Hickman and Jakob Cuellar were named offensive player of the week and defender of the week by the Great American Conference on Tuesday.

Hickman scored one goal and had two assists in a 4-1 victory over Harding University. Cuellar helped OBU hold Harding to four shots on goal. He also had an assist.

WOMEN'S SOCCER

Lyon blanked by Harris-Stowe State

Yuliana Miranda scored one goal and had one assist to lead Harris-Stowe State University to a 4-0 victory over Lyon College on Tuesday in Batesville.

Rosara Sastne, Paula Ulreich and Lizette Popoca also scored for Harris-Stowe (8-2-2, 4-2-1 American Midwest Conference). Claire Cooley made four saves for Lyon (5-5-2, 4-2-1).

VOLLEYBALL

Harding sweeps Lyon

Zoe Hardin had 11 kills and 3 blocks, Rachel Heussner had 36 assists and Taylor Lake had 10 digs to lead Harding University (14-7) past Lyon College 25-10, 25-15, 25-22.

Michayla Shanks led Lyon College (14-9) with 12 kills. Madisson Williams had 13 digs, and Kaitlyn Jackson had 14 assists.

UAFS defeats Newman

The University of Arkansas at Fort Smith swept Newman (Kan.) 25-10, 25-11, 25-15 Tuesday night at the Stubblefield Center in Fort Smith.

UAFS (14-8, 4-1) was led by Rachel Williams, who had 13 kills. Erin Black had 32 assists.

Two UAFS players win weekly awards

Debra Rogers of the University of Arkansas at Fort Smith and Taylor Stoops were named offensive player and setter of the week by the Heartland Conference on Tuesday.

Rogers had 40 kills and averaged 3.33 kills per set while compiling a .452 hitting percentage. She also had 4 assists, 11 digs and 8 blocks.

Stoops had 103 assists and averaged 8.58 assists per set. She had six kills and 29 digs.
