City attorney aide takes job with AG

A change in the city attorney's office is coming this week.

Assistant City Attorney Daniel McFadden is leaving his city position to join the Arkansas attorney general's office to work in civil litigation, he said.

McFadden's last day is Tuesday, he said. He will start his state job Oct. 22.

Moving into the city attorney's office will be Mike Mosley, senior counsel at the Arkansas Municipal League, which has its headquarters in North Little Rock, City Attorney Amy Fields said.

McFadden has been with the city attorney's office since August 2010. He is a captain in the Arkansas Army National Guard with the 77th Expeditionary Combat Aviation Brigade and is the brigade judge advocate general. He took a year away from his city position while on active duty with the National Guard in Kuwait, returning in May 2017.

CareLink offering free plan reviews

CareLink, central Arkansas' Area Agency on Aging which has its headquarters in North Little Rock, is offering free plan reviews starting Monday during the open-enrollment period for Medicare Part D and Medicare Advantage.

CareLink, a nonprofit agency, isn't associated with any insurance plan and serves residents in Pulaski, Faulkner, Lonoke, Monroe, Prairie and Saline counties.

Medicare recipients are recommended to re-evaluate their plans annually during the open-enrollment period to ensure the best coverage because health needs and health insurance plans change year to year, according to a news release.

Medicare recipients will need to make their final selection for 2019 Medicare coverage by Dec. 7 to ensure Medicare coverage continues without interruption into 2019, according to the news release.

Medicare recipients must have an appointment for a review during the open-enrollment period. Most reviews will be at CareLink's office, 706 West Fourth St., or at scheduled locations in its service area through Dec 7.

For appointments, dates and locations, contact CareLink at (501) 372-5300 or visit CareLink.org.
