Downtown Little Rock will be a corny place during the Arkansas Cornbread Festival, 11 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday, with Little Rock's Main Street blocked off between 13th and 17th streets for the party. Visitors can sample and vote for their favorite professional and amateur cooks. There will also be music, games, shopping and kids activities. Admission is free. Stunt fliers and jump teams will put on a weekend of sky-high entertainment at the Thunder Over the Rock Air Show, 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Saturday-Sunday at the Little Rock Air Force Base in Jacksonville. Aerial acts are set to start at 11:25 a.m.; there will also be vehicle displays, a STEM Fest with hands-on activities and a Kid Zone with inflatables. Pint-size ghosts and ghouls can have family spooky fun at several downtown Little Rock locations for the Big Boo!-seum Bash, 5:30-8:30 p.m. today. The Historic Arkansas Museum, 200 E. Third St.; the Mosaic Templars Cultural Center, 501 W. Ninth St.; and the Old State House Museum, 300 W. Markham St.; Heifer Village, 1 World Ave.; Curran Hall, 615 E. Capitol Ave.; and the Museum of Discovery, 500 President Clinton Ave.; are among the locations that will open their doors for trick-or-treating, games, crafts and other Halloween activities. The Arkansas Arts Center's Contemporaries present an artistic evening for Fountain Fest, 5:30 p.m. today at the Arts Center. Two children take a very sweet musical adventure in Hansel & Gretel's Gingerbread Games, the latest production of the Arkansas Arts Center's Children's Theatre, 7 p.m. Friday and 2 p.m. Saturday and Sunday through Nov. 11 at the Arts Center, East Ninth and Commerce streets, Little Rock. Horton the Elephant, the Cat in the Hat, Gertrude McFuzz, lazy Mayzie and other Dr. Seuss characters take the audience from the Jungle of Nool and the Circus McGurkus to the tiny world of the Whos in Seussical the Musical (music by Lynn Ahrens, lyrics by Stephen Flaherty, book by both, based on the writings and illustrations of Theodore Seuss Geisel).
