Benton County restaurant inspections

Critical violations are defined as items relating directly to factors that lead to food-borne illness and must be corrected immediately. Noncritical violations are defined as items that relate to maintenance of food operations and cleanliness.

Aug. 27

Azul Tequila

Critical violations: Cut tomatoes and shredded cheese were not at 41 degrees in cold holding. Containers of food in cold holding were not date marked.

Noncritical violations: Food employees were not wearing proper hair restraints. There were no test strips available at the time of inspection.

Critical violations: Sour cream and half and half were not at 41 degrees or below in cold holding.

Critical violations: Miso soup was not cooled in accordance to established procedure. Cream cheese and crab mixture were at 43 degrees in cold holding.

Noncritical violations: White tuna is listed on the menu, but the product is escolar. Rice scoops were stored in water that was not 135 degrees or more.

Critical violations: Employee was not wearing gloves while preparing food. Sanitizer concentration was not strong enough.

Critical violations: Steak fajita meat was at 117 degrees in hot holding. Salsa was not at 41 degrees or below in cold holding. A spray bottle of degreaser was not labeled. A back flow prevention device is not connected to a faucet.

Noncritical violations: There were no handwashing signs at the sink near the dish machine. Soda nozzles need cleaning.

Critical violations: Raw eggs were stored above ready-to-eat vegetables in the cooler. Cut tomatoes and pineapple were not at 41 degrees or below in cold holding.

Critical violations: Employee who was washing dishes did not wash hands between handling dirty dishes and clean ones. There were no paper towels at the handwashing sink. The interior of the ice machine needs cleaning. No sanitizer was being dispensed in the automatic dishwasher. Curd rice on the buffet was at 45 degrees; no variance has been granted for yogurt made on premises. Items were not date marked as needed.

Noncritical violations: Bags of carrots, whole watermelons and containers of food were stored on the floor of the walk-in cooler. All floors, walls and equipment need cleaning.
