Style: It came from outer space

“Predators don’t just sit around making hats out of rib cages,” a character in The Predator, Shane Black’s new reboot of the action franchise that started in 1987, muses. “They conquered space.”

Whoa, that's right. That means they’re liable to come back at any time. Piers Marchant made some room in his schedule to see the film at the Toronto International Film Festival last week, and he’s filed his report. He also briefs us on a few festival films that will be showing up in local theaters soon.

Meanwhile Philip Martin checks in with a review of the black comedy The Wife, which provides Glenn Close with her best role since she boiled that rabbit and previews this Sunday’s screening of The Giants Wore White Gloves at downtown Little Rock’s Ron Robinson Theater.
