28-year-old pedestrian hit, killed in Arkansas crash

A 28-year-old Arkansas man was hit and killed after he walked onto U.S. 65 in Lincoln County Sunday night, according to a report.

Jauswan Lane of Gould was hit around 6:15 p.m., when he walked into the southbound lane of U.S. 65 in front of a 2013 Dodge headed south on the highway, an Arkansas State Police report states. The wreck happened in Gould, authorities said.

Lane was taken to Delta Memorial Hospital in Dumas, where he was pronounced dead, according to the report.

Conditions were listed as clear and dry at the time of the wreck.

At least 349 people have died in wrecks on state roads so far in 2018, according to preliminary reports.
