Authorities say 2 teens robbed Arkansas woman while she was holding grandchild

Authorities in Arkansas say two teens are accused of robbing a woman at gunpoint as she was holding her grandchild this week.

El Dorado officers responded just before 9 p.m. Saturday in reference to a robbery at a residence in the 1100 block of West Sixth.

A woman told police she had just arrived at the home and was getting her grandchild out of the vehicle when she noticed two males, later identified as Ke’Travion Smith and a 15-year-old boy, walk just past her residence.

According to authorities, one of them pointed a gun at her head and demanded money as she held her grandchild.

While patrolling the area a short time later, police saw two males matching the description of the suspects walking east on Parkway near College. Authorities said the two ran behind a house in the 500 block of South Parkway and jumped a fence. They then ran into another residence nearby, and officers found them inside and took them into custody, according to a police report.

Smith, of Dubach, La., remained in the Union County jail Wednesday in lieu of $150,000 bond on charges of aggravated robbery, residential burglary, theft of property, possession of a controlled substance, and endangering the welfare of a minor.

A 15-year-old Bernice, La., boy appeared Wednesday in Union County Juvenile Court on the same charges.

Both defendants also face penalty enhancements for offenses committed in the presence of a minor and committing a felony with a firearm.
