MUSIC SCENE: Shelby Lynne-Allison Moorer South on Main show a sell-out; Dara Tucker sings jazz at Ron Robinson

Sister singer-songwriters Shelby Lynne and Allison Moorer perform at 8 p.m. today at South on Main. The show is sold out. (Any turnback tickets will be $40.25-$57.50.)

Lynne, 50, and Moorer, 46, collaborated on their first duo project, Not Dark Yet, released in August 2017. It featured their versions of songs by Merle Haggard, Bob Dylan, Nirvana, the Killers and others, plus one original, "Is It Too Much," they wrote together. In 2018, they began work on another album that will feature all-original material.

Moorer will also release a memoir, Blood, in the fall. She has released eight solo albums since her debut, Alabama Song, in 1998. Lynne has released 13 albums since her debut, Sunrise, in 1998. She won the Grammy Award for best new artist for her sixth album, I Am Shelby Lynne, released in 1999.

Tim Higgins performs at 9 p.m. Saturday. Tickets are $7 in advance, $10 day of show.

Raised in Detroit and coastal Alabama, Higgins formed a songwriter collective, Bible Study, that released an album, Guilt Trip, in 2014. In November, he released his debut solo album, Blight, which was included on Rolling Stone's "Best New Country/Americana" list Nov. 9.

"Celebrating the Life of Burger," (the late singer-songwriter Mike Scoggins), begins Saturday with an open mike for stories and memories., 5:30-7 p.m., followed by music by John Good, Nick Devlin, Barbara Raney, Amy Garland, Stephanie Smittle, Rachel Fields, Bill Bohannon, Evan Brown and others. Admission is $5; proceeds go to Trust Tree, an organization supporting music for young girls. Burger, who led Pine Bluff-based band Sweet Magnolia in the late 1970s, was also a columnist for Nightflying magazine.

Tucker is a Nashville, Tenn.-based jazz singer and composer whose latest album is Oklahoma Rain. Her show is part of the Butler Center for Arkansas Studies' Arkansas Sounds series.

Cook, 46, a country singer-songwriter born in Wildwood, Fla., has released six albums since 2000. She is also the host of Elizabeth Cook's Apron Strings on Sirius XM radio channel Outlaw Country.

Hoge, 46, a Nashville, Tenn., native and Americana singer-songwriter, has released 10 studio and five live albums since 1997, when he was a member of the band Spoonful. He has toured with ZZ Top, Squeeze, Needtobreathe, Midnight Oil, Lisa Loeb, The Civil Wars and Jason Isbell.
