Glad he's over

A few months back, Stormy Daniels was a recurring topic on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, as was her lawyer Michael Avenatti. Those who longed for President Trump to be yanked out of the White House cheered Mr. Avenatti as a hero, the fashionable lawyer with the silver bullet.

Now that "hero" is indicted, and he may just be a crook.

A new indictment reveals he's accused of fraud, embezzlement and more, according to The Los Angeles Times: "In a sweeping expansion of the criminal charges against Michael Avenatti, a federal grand jury has indicted the Los Angeles lawyer on 36 counts of fraud, perjury, failure to pay taxes, embezzlement and other financial crimes. Avenatti stole millions of dollars from five clients and used a tangled web of shell companies and bank accounts to cover up the theft, the Santa Ana grand jury alleged in an indictment that prosecutors [made] public Thursday."

It'd be hard to run for president if you're convicted of a felony. It seems those dreams of this particular porn-star lawyer unseating Donald Trump are out of reach. For some of us, we're just glad his 15 minutes are over and done with.
