Resurfacing work will require a ramp closing on Interstate 540 in Van Buren and a detour for about two weeks starting Sunday, the Arkansas Department of Transportation said.
The work encompassing three overpasses on the ramp carrying traffic from northbound Interstate 540 to westbound Interstate 40 will require closing the ramp from 8 p.m. Sunday until the work is completed, which will depend on the weather.
The recommended detour has motorists taking the U.S. 64 exit and traveling east to Alma, where motorists can access I-40, the department said. Traffic will be controlled by signs, barricades and traffic barrels.
