NW arts center, music venue win award

The International Association of Venue Managers awarded the Walton Arts Center and the Walmart Arkansas Music Pavilion a 2019 Venue Excellence Award.

The award annually recognizes five venues of any type that have demonstrated excellence and innovation in operation and management of public assembly venues within the past calendar year. The criteria for the award includes service to the community, team building/professional development, safety and security and operational excellence.

The four other 2019 Venue Excellence Award winners are: U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis; State Farm Arena in Atlanta; Hawaii Convention Center in Honolulu and Tacoma Venues & Events in Tacoma, Wash.

Bentonville campaign earns Best in Show

The Greater Bentonville Area Chamber of Commerce was awarded Best in Show for Communications Excellence for its #BecauseBentonville campaign by the Association of Chamber of Commerce Executives.

The Greater Bentonville Area Chamber of Commerce created the #BecauseBentonville campaign as an economic development strategy to test the hypothesis that, in a hyper-mobile economy, quality of place is increasingly a leading economic decision driver.

The association's Awards for Communications Excellence program is designed to showcase top communications and marketing work of chambers of commerce and similar organizations.
