The status of education in Arkansas will be the topic tonight at a panel presentation at the Dee Brown Library at 6325 Baseline Road in Little Rock.
Admission is free to "Issues that Matter: The State of Education in Arkansas" and the event at 6-7 p.m. is open to the public.
The Central Arkansas Library System, KUAR-FM 89.1, and the League of Women Voters of Pulaski County are hosting the event.
Panelists will be Ricardo Gomez, Little Rock Central High senior; Stacey McAdoo, 2019 Arkansas Teacher of the Year and Little Rock Central High teacher; Michael Mills, department chairman and associate professor of education at the University of Central Arkansas; Ginny Blankenship, education policy director for the Arkansas Advocates for Children and Families; and John Bacon, chief executive officer of eStem Public Charter Schools.
Issues that Matter is a series that covers a variety of topics relevant to Arkansas, including the environment and the U.S. census.
The next panel presentation will be Nov. 14 at Nixon Library in Jacksonville. The topic will be the census.
