The Christmas season began early at South on Main. Arkansas Festival Ballet's South on Main Brunch, held Nov. 16 at the restaurant, raised money for the ballet's new costumes and set design for its production of The Nutcracker.
Guests enjoyed a signature cocktail, the Sugar Plum Fairy, while costumed young dancers served such brunch-worthy morsels as French toast cubes, deviled eggs, fried green tomatoes, hush puppies with dip and pimento toast.
The event was highlighted by a Nutcracker preview featuring the Spanish, Arabian, Chinese and Reed Flute dances along with the dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy.
This holiday season, Arkansas Festival Ballet will perform The Nutcracker in various cities across Arkansas, including El Dorado and Monticello with the South Arkansas Symphony Orchestra, A Mad Russian's Christmas in Conway with the Conway Symphony Orchestra and Holly & Ivy in North Little Rock with Little Rock Winds.
