Boys

Bentonville High 72, Jefferson City, Mo. 62

Bentonville went on a 26-6 run in the third quarter to get ahead of Jefferson City and claim fifth place in the Blue Springs (Mo.) Invitational.

The outburst helped the Tigers (4-2) turn a 31-23 halftime deficit into a 49-37 lead. Bentonville then secured the victory by hitting 15 of 18 free throws in the fourth quarter.

Colton Simmons had 20 points and went 8-for-8 at the free-throw line in the fourth quarter to lead four Tigers in double figures. Hayden Shanks was next in line with 18, followed by Sawyer Price with 15 and Thane Spencer with 11.

Bentonville returns to action Thursday during a tournament in Orlando, Fla.

Neosho 48, Clarksville 28

Neosho jumped to a 29-11 halftime lead and cruised to the win.

Braden Payne led Clarksville with 10 points, while Owen Ashlock grabbed a team-high 10 rebounds. Cameron Patterson dished out six assists.

Girls

Rogers High 52, Blue Valley West 39

The Lady Mounties jumped to a 17-4 lead after a quarter and cruised to the win in the third-place game of the Freeman-Lady Eagle Classic in Joplin, Mo.

Gracie Carr led Rogers (5-4) with 14 points, while Camiran Brockhoff added 11. Kate McConnell scored all 10 of her points in the third quarter as the Lady Mounties led 37-27.

Boys

Clarksville 71, McDonald County 39

The Panthers jumped to a 24-8 lead after a quarter and cruised to the nonconference win.

Cole Clark led the way for Clarksville with 29 points, including seven 3-pointers. Braden Payne added 12 points, while Garrett Waddill contributed 11 points and six assists. Cameron Patterson grabbed a team-high nine rebounds.

Valley Springs 74, Clinton 59

Isaac Ragland poured in a game-high 31 points to lead Valley Springs to the win.

The Tigers (14-2, 4-0 3A-1 East) also got Briley Saunier and 11 from Teagan James.

ELKINS 76, KINGSTON 29

Caden Vaught poured in 28 points to lead Elkins past Kingston.

Paxton Barnett added 16 points and Kain Johnson 12 for Elkins (9-1), which led 44-12 at halftime. Kingston was led by Gunnar Davis with six points.

Westville, Okla. 43, Life Way Christian 40

Life Way Christian fell behind early and never caught up as the Warriors lost to Westville during the Colcord (Okla.) Invitational.

Preston Green had 13 points and was the only player in double figures for Life Way, which trailed 18-7 after one quarter and 24-13 at halftime.

Girls

Carl Junction, Mo. 60, Rogers High 50

Kate McConnell scored a team-high 19 points, including six 3-pointers, but it wasn't enough as the Lady Mounties fell in the semifinals of the Freeman-Lady Eagle Classic in Joplin.

Camiran Brockhoff added 10 for Rogers (4-4), which trailed 30-25 at halftime and 43-31 entering the fourth quarter.

Katie Scott, a 6-1 senior, led Carl Junction (5-0) with 19 points, while Destiny Buerge added 10.
