When it comes to selling those little red boxes, the Wolfe Street Foundation -- supporter of a downtown center that serves as a meeting place for recovering substance abusers -- gets started early.
The neatly wrapped boxes were sold at a Jan. 24 VIP Patron Party, held at the west Little Rock home of Ashley and Allen Engstrom for supporters of the foundation's forthcoming Red Carpet Gala. Each box represents a chance to win a fancy pair of earrings, donated by Jones & Son Diamond & Bridal Fine Jewelry, at the main event.
In addition to buying boxes, guests chatted, took photos in front of the Red Carpet step and repeat banner, enjoyed libations and tasty morsels from Trio's, and heard brief remarks from foundation board chairman Tim Laughlin as well as its new executive director, Joy Reynolds.
An annual black-tie event that until last year was an Oscar-night watch party, the Red Carpet Gala will take place Feb. 23 at Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church.
