Teen found shot to death in central Arkansas apartment, police say

Police said Monday they are investigating a homicide after a 19-year-old man was found shot to death in his Maumelle apartment.

Anthony Thomas Jr., was found in a bedroom by officers who responded to his residence at The Gables apartments, 1500 Union Court, just after 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, Maumelle Police Department spokesman Capt. Jim Hansard said.

Officers discovered the body after a neighbor called police to request a welfare check on Thomas, whose apartment door was open and whose car was parked askew, Hansard said.

According to a news release by Maumelle police, Thomas was found with two gunshot wounds in his head. No suspects were named and no arrests had been made at the time of the release.
