Getting it straight

Senate Bill 336 would, among other things, created a new wholesale motor fuels sales tax in Arkansas — 3 cents a gallon on gasoline and 6 cents a gallon on diesel. The tax would be recalculated annually by the state Department of Finance and Administration. Future increases would be limited to 0.1 cent a year, so, over 10 years, the most the tax would increase is 1 cent a gallon. An article Friday misstated the maximum annual increase.
