MLK Remembrance and Service Project
RUSSELLVILLE — Arkansas Tech University will remember Martin Luther King Jr. with a celebration of remembrance and march, beginning at 5 p.m. at Hindsman Tower and ending at the W.O. Young Building. Students, faculty, staff, alumni and friends of ATU are then invited to help with a service project in the Young Ballroom to prepare 1,000 hygiene kits for distribution at the River Valley Shelter for Battered Women and Children. Self-Publishing Seminar
CONWAY — Arkansas author Adrienne Thompson will conduct a seminar, How to Become a Successful Self-Published Author, at 2 p.m. at the Faulkner County Library. Thompson is the author of more than 34 works of fiction. Formerly a registered nurse, she lives in Arkansas and writes and publishes her stories full time. She is also a motivational speaker. Arkansas Master Naturalists Foothills Chapter
CONWAY — The Arkansas Master Naturalists Foothills Chapter is taking applications for its 40-hour 2019 Naturalist in Training class, which meets Saturdays, beginning Jan. 26. The group partners with state and federal groups and helps at places such as the Cove Creek Natural Area and the South Fork Nature Center, with activities that include a stream team, invasive-plant eradication, trail building and maintenance, a frog watch and more. The cost is $165 for individuals or $275 for couples, with annual dues of $30 included for the first year. Deck the Halls Art Exhibit
CLINTON — The North Central Arkansas Artist League has an exhibit titled Deck the Halls at Ozark Health Medical Center on U.S. 65.
