Dog-kicking man arrested, police say

A Little Rock officer arrested a man Saturday after watching him repeatedly kick a small dog, according to an arrest report.

An officer reported seeing Nicky Lynn Anthony, 58, kicking the small, brown dog Saturday morning near 900 E. Roosevelt Road, the report said.

The officer asked Anthony why he was kicking the dog, and Anthony said it was because the dog was not listening to him, the report said. Animal control took custody of the dog, and Anthony was arrested on a felony charge of aggravated animal cruelty, according to the report.

Anthony was in the Pulaski County jail as of Saturday evening with no bail set.

Officers: Pot found on man at LR center

Officers arrested a Little Rock man Saturday afternoon after finding him inside a nonprofit group's building with marijuana in his pocket, an arrest report said.

Roger Lee Green II, 63, was arrested on charges of commercial burglary, theft of property and possession of marijuana Saturday after officers found him inside the Dream Center, 3215 Brown St. in Little Rock, a state nonprofit organization that aids needy children, the report said.

Green was in the Pulaski County jail in lieu of bond as of Saturday evening.
