Batesville street to shut for work

A section of Harrison Street in Batesville will be closed during repair work that is expected to take up to six weeks, the Arkansas Department of Transportation said.

Crews will close Harrison Street, also called Arkansas 69B, between Neely and Eighth streets from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily, weather permitting. The closing began Wednesday.

After hours, there will be a single lane open with temporary signal lights, the department said. This closing will be in place while crews repair drainage structures beneath the highway. The work is anticipated to take four to six weeks.

Traffic will be controlled with signs and traffic barrels, the department said.
