MUSIC SCENE: Singer-songwriter Amy Helm to perform at Ozark Folk Center

Grammy-winning singer-songwriter Amy Helm will perform at 7 p.m. Friday at the Ozark Folk Center in Mountain View. Tickets are $32.50 or $20.

Helm, the daughter of legendary Arkansas native Levon Helm of The Band, has become an established performer in her own right after stints in her dad's Midnight Ramble Band and then as a member of Ollabelle.

She has released two solo albums: Didn't It Rain in 2015 and This Too Shall Light in September. She won Grammy Awards in 2008 and 2010 for co-producing her dad's Dirt Farmer and Electric Dirt albums, respectively.

She was also part of the live album, Ramble at the Ryman, which won the 2012 Grammy for best Americana album.

A 23-year-old Little Rock native, Princeton Von Coleman, better known as Yuni Wa, has released 24 albums and four singles between 2014 and 2016. He is a multi-genre producer, lyricist and DJ. Yuni Wa is a shortened version of the Japanese word, "yunibasaru," which means "universal."

WEDNESDAY

Hammell on Trial will perform at 8:30 p.m. Wednesday at White Water Tavern in Little Rock. Admission is free.

Edward James "Ed" Hammell, who performs as Hammell on Trial, is a New York-based punk rock and "anti-folk" spoken-word musician who was signed in 2003 to Ani DiFranco's label, Righteous Babe Records. He has released 15 albums since his debut in 1989, the most recent of which, The Night Guy at The Apocalypse, Profiles of a Rushing Midnight, came out in 2018.
