Vanessa Diane Maher Austin Reinhardt Schoessel

Vanessa Diane Maher became the bride of Austin Reinhardt Schoessel at 5:30 p.m. Saturday, March 16, at Marlsgate Plantation in Scott. Greg Adams officiated.

The bride is the daughter of Jana Huffman and Jeff Maher, both of Little Rock. Her grandparents are Tamara Ponomareff of Little Rock, Liz and Mike Maher of Hastings, Minn., and Janelle and Michael Cisneros of Nashville, Tenn.

Parents of the groom are Susan Orsi Davis of Little Rock and Alan Schoessel of Jacksonville. He is the grandson of Robin Nichols Orsi of Little Rock, the late John F. Orsi Jr., Neal Schoessel of Jacksonville and the late Julius Schoessel.

Vows were exchanged on the home's veranda decorated with majesty palms and white lisianthus in 6-foot-tall, antique cast-iron cherub urns. Music was by pianist Michael Heavener.

The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a lace gown with a V-neckline and illusion shoulder straps and back embellished with lace.

Andrea Maher of Fayetteville was her sister's maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Lydia Maher of Little Rock, also sister of the bride; and Collins Greene of Spring Hill, Tenn., and Tess Davis of Little Rock, sisters of the groom. They wore blush-colored gowns and carried smaller versions of the bridal bouquet.

Flower girl was Campbell Fowler of Conway and ring bearers were Crafton Fowler of Conway and Hudson Huffman of Little Rock, brother of the bride.

Best man was Andrew Schoessel of Los Angeles, brother of the groom. Groomsmen were Jack Smith of Little Rock, cousin of the groom; Bo Turney of St. Petersburg, Fla.; and John Bronson of Plano, Texas. The groomsmen served as ushers.

A reception on the grounds of Marlsgate followed the ceremony. The garden terrace held antique cast-iron benches with floral pillows and tables decorated with candles, forsythia and magnolia in glass cylinders. Guest tables under a tent held gold-washed compotes filled with wedding flowers. Tables for the wedding party held antique silver candelabra. The focal point of the tent was a 10-foot-tall antique iron urn filled with curly willow, magnolia, green amaranthus, roses and white hydrangea.

The bride graduated with a bachelor's degree in education from the University of Central Arkansas in Conway where she was on the dean's list. She is a first-grade teacher at Crystal Hill Elementary School, Pulaski County Special School District.

The groom will graduate in December from UCA with a bachelor's degree in management information systems and is self-employed as an IT consultant.

The couple will make their home in Little Rock after a wedding trip to Montego Bay, Jamaica.
