Jane Elizabeth Leatherbury Nechtman and Stephen Taylor Douglas were united in marriage at 6:30 p.m. Saturday, April 27, in The Cathedral of the Advent, Birmingham, Ala. The Very Rev. Andrew Pearson officiated.

Parents of the bride are Dr. Janie and John Williams and Dr. Carl and Tina Nechtman, all of Birmingham. She is the granddaughter of Jane and Dr. Lucian Newman Jr. of Gadsden, Ala., and Sam and Dr. Carl Nechtman of Augusta, Ga.

The groom is the son of Anne and Stephen W. Douglas of Texarkana and the grandson of Mary Glynn and the late Bob W. Douglas, also of Texarkana, and the late Virginia and Larry E. Randall of Fort Smith.

Ceremony flowers included double lilies, roses and hydrangeas.

Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore an off-the-shoulder gown of cream-colored silk made from her mother's wedding gown and embellished with Alencon lace. She carried a cascade of white orchids.

Serving as the bride's honor attendants were were Caroline Donald and Annie Thompson Somerville, both Birmingham. Bridesmaids were Sarah Douglas Beach of Little Rock, sister of the groom; Mary Claire Miller Cox of Birmingham; Annie Goodyear of Alexandria, Va.; Caroline Ottelin and Elise LeBlanc Nechtman, sister-in-law of the bride, both of New Orleans; Lindy Newman and Walton Newman Vandervoort, both of Gadsden, and cousins of the bride; Grace Peters of Memphis; Jeanie Schottgen and Greer Turner, both of Mobile, Ala.; and Anna Claire Wammack of Nashville, Tenn. They wore ice-blue chiffon gowns and carried blush and pink garden roses, peonies and seeded eucalyptus.

The father of the groom was best man. Groomsmen were Robert Beach of Little Rock; Matthew Brown of Texarkana; Brinkley Cook-Campbell of Mt. Judea; Marshall Moore, Clayton Davis and Jesse Howe, all of Dallas; Benjamin Halliday of Houston; Justin Laughlin of Fayetteville; Carl Nechtman III and Schilling Nechtman, both of Birmingham and brothers of the bride; Douglas Munson of Little Rock, cousin of the groom; and William Wagner of Tulsa. Guests were seated by Colt Galloway of Fayetteville and Stephen Munson of Little Rock, cousin of the groom.

A reception at Mountain Brook Club in Birmingham was decorated with garlands of smilax, roses, lilies and white delphiniums. Music was by Atlanta Groove Factory.

The bride has a bachelor's degree in accounting from the University of Alabama and a master's degree in tax accounting from the University of Alabama Manderson School of Business. She was a member of Kappa Delta and is a member of the Junior League of Little Rock. She is employed with Hogan Taylor of Little Rock.

The groom graduated with honors and a bachelor's degree in finance and accounting from Walton College of Business at University of Arkansas, where he was a member of Sigma Alpha Epsilon. He has a master's degree in accountancy from The Neeley School of Business at Texas Christian University in Fort Worth. He is employed in trade development for Douglas Companies of Conway.

The couple will make their home in Little Rock after a wedding trip to Sugar Beach, St. Lucia.
