ASU moves up to ninth

Arkansas State University shot a 291 in the second round at the NCAA Louisville Regional in Simpsonville, Ky., and is in ninth place with a 585.

Auburn leads with a 553, while Oklahoma State is second with a 561 and Baylor is third with a 568. Iowa State is fourth at 570, and Louisville is fifth at 571. The top-five teams advance to next week's NCAA Championships at The Blessings in Fayetteville.

The Red Wolves were led by Julien Sale, who had a a team-best 70 and is tied for 28th with teammate Joel Wendin with a 36-hole total of 145. Wendin turned in a 73 in his second round.

Zan Luka Stirn shot a 75 and had a 36-hole total of 148, which leaves him tied for 48th. Matthew Cole shot a 72 in the second round. He is tied for 54th with a 36-hole total of 149. Luka Naglic is tied for 60th with a 151 after a second-round 76.

Individually, Tripp Kinney of Iowa Stae leads with a 134 after a second-round 65.

The tournament concludes today with the Red Wolves teeing off at 7:25 a.m.
