Orchestra to perform John Williams' score live as 'Star Wars IV' screens at amphitheater

Northwest Arkansas musicians will play John Williams' score, live, as Star Wars: Episode IV -- A New Hope screens Saturday at the Walmart AMP.

A symphony orchestra featuring members of the Symphony of Northwest Arkansas will play John Williams' score, live, as Star Wars: Episode IV — A New Hope screens, 8 p.m. Saturday at the Walmart AMP, 5079 W. Northgate Road, Rogers. Doors open at 6:30.

Bluegrass Monday

Bluegrass band Remington Ryde — guitarist, vocalist and founder Ryan Frankhouser; Billy Lee Cox, banjo; Ron Truman, bass; and Stanley Efaw, mandolin — performs at 7 p.m. Monday at the Collins Theatre, 120 W. Emerson St., Paragould, part of Jonesboro public radio station KASU-FM, 91.9's Bluegrass Monday concert series. Cry 4 Help

Hip-hop performer and Arkansas native Kari Faux, on her "Help Wanted" tour in support of her new EP Cry 4 Help, returns to her hometown for a special performance, 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Ron Robinson Theater, 100 River Market Ave., Little Rock. Markham & Broadway

Heather Headley, who played Nala in the original Broadway cast of The Lion King and the title role in the original Broadway cast of Aida, joins the Arkansas Symphony Orchestra for a special concert, 7:30 p.m. Oct. 5 at Robinson Center Performance Hall, 426 W. Markham St. at Broadway, Little Rock. "An Evening with Heather Headley" will feature selections from those shows and other Broadway tunes. Ron Colvard will conduct.

War documentary

Amy Helm kicks off the Oxford American's 2019-20 Concert Series — and its subsidiary Americana Series — at 8 p.m. Aug. 22 at South on Main, 1304 Main St., Little Rock.

During their time in central Arkansas, they will also conduct free master classes at the University of Central Arkansas benefiting music students.
