A FASHIONABLE CONSTRUCT

Auxiliary's fashion show benefits Salvation Army

"Construction Zone" -- complete with caution tape, Road Work signs, hard hats and those oh-so-beloved orange-and-white barrels and cones -- was the theme of the 2019 Autumn Runway fashion show and luncheon hosted by the Salvation Army Women's Auxiliary of Central Arkansas. The luncheon, chaired by Loreen Orage, took place Oct. 29 at Second Baptist Church on John Barrow Road in Little Rock.

Silent-auction items awaited guests, many of whom braved their way through the actual head-spinning construction zone on Interstate 630 to get to the event. A buffet luncheon preceded the fashion show, which featured designs by Korto Momolu.

Mallory Hardin Brooks was mistress of ceremonies for the day's program, which also featured a dance performance by Kaitlyn Hardiman, Arkansas/Oklahoma creative arts specialist. Auxiliary President Gail Davis welcomed the crowd.

The program also included a presentation, "The Salvation Army -- Lives Under Construction," featuring the work of the agency benefiting from the luncheon.

CORRECTION: Carla Fawcett, Zoe Guthrie, Betty Atkins and Allene Bussard attended Autumn Runway, an Oct. 29 fundraiser presented by the Salvation Army Women’s Auxiilary of Central Arkansas. Atkins’ name was listed incorrectly in a photo caption.
