Jim Cargill was presented the 2019 Vision Award at a luncheon Oct. 30 at the Clinton Presidential Center. Cargill, president and chief executive officer of Arvest Bank in central, northeast and southwest Arkansas, was given the award by World Services for the Blind.

Arvest President and CEO Kevin Sabin presented the award to Cargill, which is given to those who have, according to the World Services website, "demonstrated far-reaching vision to successfully orchestrate events through business enterprise and community involvement to help better society for all citizens, both with and without sight."

The luncheon included a presentation by Loretha Robinson, a student at World Services, and remarks by Sharon Priest, state Sen. Joyce Elliott and the organization's CEO, Sharon Giovinazzo.

The nonprofit agency offers a variety of programs and services to people who are blind or visually impaired including essential life skills and career training. This is the 19th year for the Vision Award luncheon, a fundraiser for World Services for the Blind.
