PINE BLUFF -- Organizers for this year's Christmas light trail at Regional Park say they're ready to open as planned Tuesday night after flooding submerged $150,000 worth of Christmas lights in mid-October and early November. Gregory Gustek, director of the Pine Bluff Festival Association, said Lake Langhofer along the Arkansas River receded Nov. 6, allowing workers to replace 9,500 lights on Christmas displays for Pine Bluff's 13th annual Enchanted Land of Lights and Legends. Regional Park on Lake Langhofer is prone to flooding, especially during the spring. But it flooded this fall as well. The 1.2-mile trail at the park includes more than 200 lighted displays and last year attracted 105,000 people, Gustek said. The trail will remain open through New Year's Eve, Gustek said.
