Girls Scouts young, old and in-between came together to celebrate 108 years of Girl Scouting at The Big Brunch on March 12 at Chenal Country Club.

The event began with a champagne reception where members of Troop 6109 modeled Girl Scout uniforms from different decades. The scouts also were in charge of the Presentation of Colors before the program.

For the meal, guests were served individual quiche, bacon and a spinach salad. Cheesecake with a topping of crumbled Girl Scout Cookies was dessert.

Tanarah Haynie, founder and chief creative director of Tanarah Luxe Floral, was the honorary chairwoman of the event. The former Girl Scout told the brunchgoers she "was a beast at selling those cookies." She said selling cookies gave her a challenge and taught her drive. Speakers also included CEO Dawn Prasifka and professional golfer Christina Lecuyer. Erin Hawley served as emcee.

Amy Robach, a co-anchor of ABC's 20/20, was keynote speaker. Before giving an inspirational message she joked that while never having been a Girl Scout, she had ordered plenty of Girl Scout cookies. Robach spoke about the effect of how saying yes had changed her life and told guests, "do what you love, with love, despite fear."
