Katherine Leigh Van Hemert and Chandler Kyle Ferrell were united in marriage at 6 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 1, in Immanuel Baptist Church. The Rev. Rex Horne officiated.

Donna and Dr. Rudy Van Hemert of Little Rock are the parents of the bride. She is the granddaughter of Nancy and Tarleton Rutledge of Texarkana and Gayle and the late Dr. Lee Van Hemert of Albuquerque, N.M.

Parents of the groom are Suzanne and David Ferrell of White Hall. He is the grandson of Sylvia and Tom Lively of White Hall and Sue and Glynn Ferrell of Fordyce.

A tall wooden cross decorated with hydrangeas, oriental lilies, snapdragons, delphinium and orchids centered the chapel. Music was by organist Becky Moore, pianist Pam Ross and vocalists Reagan Gray and Nick Quinn.

Given in marriage by her parents, the bride wore an antique-white gown of hand-beaded Venice lace draped over Chantilly lace and tulle. She carried a cascade of garden roses, ranunculas, peonies, freesia and tuberose in shades of white, light green and blush.

Serving as honor attendants were Allison Biggers of Russellville and McKenzie Savage of Little Rock. Bridesmaids were Sara Bunner and Elizabeth Jester, both of Little Rock; Hannah Edmondson of Haskell; Michaelyn Ferrell of White Hall, sister of the groom; Katie Jo Henley of Conway; Emma Matros of Greenwood; Jessica Sharp of Springdale; Baylee Smith of Hooks, Texas; and Taylor Van Hemert of Carrollton, Texas, sister-in-law of the bride. They wore sage green chiffon gowns and carried bouquets of white and pink flowers. Flower girl and ringbearer were Ella Lively and Rhett Lively of Grapevine, Texas, and Easton O'Bryant of Sulfur Springs.

Nick Quinn of Benton was best man. Groomsmen were Austin Connolly of Rogers; Jake Edmondson and Cole Jester, both of Benton; Ancil Lea IV of Conway; Sykes Martin of Sheridan; Evan McKinnon of El Dorado; Matt Savage of Little Rock; Daniel Thomas of Fayetteville; and Connor Van Hemert of Carrolton, brother of the bride. Guests were seated by BJ Pullman and Zack Pullman, both of White Hall, and Josiah Smith of Conway.

A reception was held at Pleasant Valley Country Club. Assisting were Hailey MacFarlane and Taylor Reed, both of Little Rock, and Selby Tucker of Hamburg.

The bride graduated from Ouachita Baptist University summa cum laude with bachelor's degrees in biology and in kinesiology. She is a student at the University of Central Arkansas in the doctorate program for physical therapy.

The groom graduated summa cum laude from OBU with a bachelor's degree in business. He is the assistant manager at Hunter's Refuge in White Hall and a partner with CKF Properties.

The couple will live in the East End community after a wedding trip to St. Thomas.
