Church notes: In-person services resume

Benton County

Bella Vista Community Church, 75 E. Lancashire Blvd., continues to suspend non-ministry events and Kids Connect until further notice. Church ministries may meet by appointment only through the church office. Please call the office to set up your meeting time.

Join in worship Sundays at 9 a.m. (traditional) and at 11:00 a.m. (contemporary). We are following social distancing guidelines for a safe and healthy worship experience.

Bella Vista Lutheran Church, 1990 Forest Hills Blvd., invites everyone to Sunday morning worship at 8:30 a.m. for the traditional service and at 10:45 a.m. for the blended service. Sunday School for all ages and adult Bible classes are at 9:45 a.m. Please wear a mask when entering the church. Social distancing is always practiced.

GriefShare is a weekly grief support group that will begin on Aug. 20 at 3 p.m. and will continue Thursdays until Nov. 12. This group is to provide help and encouragement after the death of a spouse, child, family member or friend. Call Dorothy Jones at 355-1700 with any questions. A sign-up sheet is on the church kiosk.

The Men's Bible Class meets on Wednesdays in the chapel area at 1 p.m. and again at 7 p.m.

The Shepherd's Food Pantry is open 10 a.m. until noon on Friday. Packers and food handlers will continue to wear masks, and they ask that you not visit if you are not feeling well at the time.

The Sonday Riders will meet on Aug. 16 and again on Aug. 30 at 2 p.m. All tw0-, three- and four-wheel vehicles are invited for a two-hour ride.

First Presbyterian Church in Bentonville, 901 N.E. J St., is worshiping online Sundays at 10:15 a.m. on Facebook and YouTube.

The FPC Food Pantry is operating as a drive-through on Saturdays from 9 to 11 a.m. Please bring something (utility bill, etc.) that shows that you are a resident of Benton County, and the church is glad to serve you.

Highland Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in Bella Vista, 1500 Forest Hills Blvd., will continue to present its services on its website or on YouTube (search "highlandchristianchurchbellavista"). Leaders will revisit the idea of reopening at a meeting the second week of August.

The Presbyterian Church of Bella Vista, 1880 Forest Hills Blvd., will resume in-person worship on Sept. 13. Information and COVID guidelines will be shared with the congregation over the next few weeks.

The church is collecting school supplies for the Gravette School District. Donations can be dropped off at the church office. If you would like us to do the shopping for you, please mail your check to the church, payable to PCBV. Please write "School Supplies" on the memo line.

The weekly worship service is being recorded and posted to the website (www.pcbv.org) under the "Worship" tab. Each service will also be shared on the Presbyterian Church of Bella Vista Facebook page on Sunday mornings.

United Lutheran Church of Bella Vista, 100 Cooper Road, offers Sunday worship services every Sunday at 9:30 a.m. on Facebook Live. All are welcome. If you are unable to tune in live, please visit our website to look at the service when you are able to at www.unitedlutheranbv.org.

The International Food Festival & Auction continues Aug. 22 with the latest installment of food from five countries offered for pickup or delivery once a month through October. There will not be an option to eat at church. The menu for Aug. 22 is Italian food: Baked ziti, salad, bread and dessert. Orders will be taken until Aug. 17, and plates are $12.

Unity Church of the Ozarks, 2200 S.E. J St., Bentonville, presents guest speaker the Rev. Sheree Taylor-Jones speaking on "Who Are These People?" at 10:30 a.m. Aug. 16 on the church Facebook page. Taylor-Jones is the author of "Turn Your Why? Into Why Not?" The service can also be viewed at a later time on Facebook.

Larry Owensby presents a short, timely subject with a meditation on Facebook at 7 p.m. daily.

At 4 p.m. Wednesday, the Eckart Tolle Book Club considers "The Power of Now: A Guide to Spiritual Enlightenment" on Zoom. Join in at https:tinyurl.com/poserofnowbookclub.

Unity Church has placed a Little Free Pantry by the front door of the church at 2200 S.E. J St. in Bentonville.

Village Bible Church in Bella Vista, 1591 Forest Hills Blvd., hosts a live worship service at 10:15 a.m. Sundays. Pastor Mark Voll will be preaching on the parables of Jesus. Seating arrangements have been readjusted for social distancing.

The service is also livestreamed on Facebook; streamed to Vimeo.com/user 42482704; at www.villagebibleefc.org; and audio of the live service can be heard on 90.3 FM in the south church parking lot.

The Oasis Food Pantry is open each Wednesday from 10 a.m. to noon for drive-through pickup.

Washington County

First Presbyterian Church in Springdale, 100 S. Gutensohn Road, is having in-person worship services on Sunday mornings at 10:30 a.m. Allan Huddleston will be guest preacher Aug. 16. Anyone who is in a high-risk group or who is uncomfortable meeting in person continue to attend via live streamed services on YouTube and through a link on the church's web site: www.fpcspringdale.org.

At 9:30 a.m. on Sundays, weekly Zoom Discipleship Classes continue for adults and for the FPC Kids B.L.A.S.T. program. Both are on the website and available to all. A Presbyterian women's group meets via Zoom on Wednesdays at 7 a.m. to study the scriptural passages to be used in the coming Sunday morning service.

Robinson Avenue Church of Christ in Springdale, 1506 W. Robinson Ave., invites single parents to attend "Single & Parenting" from 6:15 to 7:30 p.m. Thursdays beginning Sept. 10. The practical content will show how a single parent or co-parents can create a positive atmosphere in the home. Sessions are taught by a video seminar. $15 materials charge is requested. A $3 dinner will be available at 6 p.m.

"DivorceCare," intended for those dealing with divorce or separation, is set for 4 to 5:30 p.m. Sundays starting Sept. 13. Babysitting will be provided for infants and children. A $15 materials charge is requested.
