A 41-year-old man faces a first-degree murder charge, Pine Bluff police said Tuesday.

Officers arrested Kevin Kimble of Pine Bluff in the fatal shooting Monday of 39-year-old Cedric Sloan. Police had responded to a call about an armed disturbance and found Sloan had been shot. Later that day, Sloan of Pine Bluff was pronounced dead at Jefferson Regional Medical Center.

Police said Tuesday that Monday's shooting happened in the 7300 block of Rosswood Road.

Sloan's slaying is the city's 14th homicide of the year, police said. In 2019, Pine Bluff had 28 homicides, said DeAunuana Martin Roberts of the Police Department.
