LR man arrested on 2 gun charges

Little Rock police early Saturday morning arrested Perry Quincy Cowan Jr., 35, of Little Rock on felony charges of criminal use of a prohibited weapon and possession of a firearm by certain persons after police found a shotgun and a handgun in the trunk of a vehicle, according to an arrest report.

Police initially stopped the vehicle after a civilian flagged them down and told them the driver of an SUV appeared to be under the influence of alcohol, the arrest report said; the driver was operating the vehicle without headlights, police reported. The arrest report said the driver did not have a license.

It's unclear based on the arrest report how police attributed the weapons in the vehicle to Cowan and whether Cowan was a passenger.
