Church notes: Lutherans start Bell Choir rehearsals

Benton County

Bella Vista Lutheran Church, 1990 Forest Hills Blvd., holds Sunday worship services at 8:30 a.m. (traditional service) and at 10:45 a.m. (blended service). Sunday School for all ages and adult Bible classes are at 9:45 a.m. You can also see the worship service at www.bvlutheran.com.

The Lutheran Hour is broadcast every Sunday at 12:30 p.m. on radio station KURM-AM (790) and KURM-FM (100.3).

Bell Choir rehearsals will be at 6:30 p.m. Nov. 17 and Nov. 24.

The Men's Bible Class meets on Wednesdays at 1 p.m. and again at 7 p.m. in Classroom 3.

Thanksgiving worship will be at 10 a.m. Nov. 26.

The Shepherd's Food Pantry is open on Fridays from 10 a.m. until noon. Distribution of the special Thanksgiving meals begins Nov. 6 for three weeks. All food handlers wear face masks and ask that visitors also wear a mask and practice social distancing.

First Presbyterian Church in Bentonville, 901 N.E. J St., is operating its FPC Food Pantry as a drive through on Saturdays from 9 to 11 a.m. Please bring something (utility bill, etc.) that shows you are a resident of Benton County, and the church is glad to serve you.

Highland Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in Bella Vista, 1500 Forest Hills Blvd., will continue to present its services on its website or on YouTube (search "highlandchristianchurchbellavista"). A decision to reopen the church will be considered this week.

The Presbyterian Church of Bella Vista, 1880 Forest Hills Blvd., has returned to in-person worship at 10 a.m. Sunday. Safety guidelines are available on the home page of our website (www.pcbv.org). Seating is limited to maintain safe physical distancing, so please let us know you're coming to worship by calling the church office.

Watch the service live on the website or Facebook page. A recording will also be posted on Sunday afternoon. In-person Sunday school classes and other church activities will resume at a later date. No childcare is provided at this time.

Unitarian Universalists of Benton County, 1400 W. Walnut, No. 113, Rogers, now offer Zoom services on alternate Sundays. Zoom in at 11 a.m. this Sunday for "Moving Forward Guided by Our Faith " by the Rev. Betty McCollum, Unitarian Universalist minister from Magnolia. The Rev. McCollum will explore how the basic foundations of our UU faith guide us and give us hope. She asks you to consider some of the foundations that serve as your source of spiritual and psychological strength.

Unity Church of the Ozarks, 2200 S.E. J St., Bentonville, presents "Walking in the Light" by the Rev. Elise Cowan at 10:30 a.m. on Facebook. On Wednesday evenings, Larry Owensby presents a short message and a meditation posted on Facebook. These can be viewed at a later time.

With coats being needed by the community, the Coat Drive, having already gathered more than 60 coats, is continuing to assist others.

Unity Church has placed a Little Free Pantry by the front door of the church at 2200 S.E. J St. in Bentonville. Please help yourself when needed and help others by donating.

Village Bible Church in Bella Vista, 1591 Forest Hills Blvd., presents live worship service at 10:15 a.m. Sundays. Seating arrangements have been readjusted for social distancing. The service is live streamed on Facebook; Vimeo Vimeo.com/user42482704; and later in the day www.villagebibleefc.org; and audio of the live service can be heard on 90.3 FM in the south church parking lot.

The Oasis Food Pantry is open each Wednesday from 10 a.m. to noon for drive-through pickup.

Washington County

First Presbyterian Church in Springdale, 100 S. Gutensohn Road, hosts Sunday morning worship services, both in-person and livestreamed, beginning at 10:30 a.m. Online worship services are available on YouTube and through the church's website.

Sunday morning in-person discipleship opportunities include "The Life of Jesus; Theology for Today" and study of the book "Fierce" with Women of Faith. All begin at 9:30 a.m. Study of Present Word via Zoom is at 9 a.m. Sundays. FPC Kids B.L.A.S.T. is in person on Sundays at 9:30 a.m. The B.L.A.S.T curriculum and resources are also available on the church website.

Presbyterian Women will meet Nov. 10 both in person and via Zoom.

Outdoor office hours with the Rev. Kade Curry are offered Mondays 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and Wednesdays 1 to 3 p.m. Call the church to set a time to meet at an outdoor location of your choice.
