Church notes: Unity bundling up for warmth

BENTON COUNTY

Bella Vista Community Church, 75 E. Lancashire Blvd., offers worship at 9 a.m. Sundays (traditional) and at 11 a.m. (contemporary). On Dec. 13, during both services will include a children's Christmas program. The Christmas Eve Candlelight Communion Service begins at 3 p.m. Dec. 24 in the sanctuary.

We are following social distancing guidelines for a safe and healthy worship experience.

Bella Vista Lutheran Church, 1990 Forest Hills Blvd., will host only one worship service on Nov. 29 at 9:30 a.m. This is the start of Advent. Advent services will be held on Wednesdays at 6 p.m. starting on Dec. 2.

Regular Sunday worship services are at 8:30 a.m. (traditional service) and at 10:45 a.m. (blended service). Sunday School for all ages and adult Bible classes are at 9:45 a.m. You can also see the worship service at www.bvlutheran.com.

The Lutheran Hour is broadcast every Sunday at 12:30 p.m. on radio station KURM-AM (790) and KURM-FM (100.3).

The Shepherd's Food Pantry is open on Fridays from 10 a.m. until noon. As a precaution for the month of December, it will be operating as a drive-through pantry. A special Christmas bag along with regular food will be distributed. Please wear a face mask.

First Presbyterian Church in Bentonville, 901 N.E. J St., hosts worship online Sundays at 10:15 a.m. on Facebook and YouTube.

The FPC Food Pantry is operating as a drive through on Saturdays from 9 to 11 a.m. Please bring something (utility bill, etc.) that shows you are a resident of Benton County, and the church is glad to serve you.

Good Shepherd Evangelical Lutheran Church in Rogers, 2305 S. Dixieland Road, celebrates worship every Sunday at 10 a.m. The City of Rogers' covid-19 precautions are followed.

For those unable to attend, the service is available live on the church Facebook page, and the weekly bulletin is at www.goodshepherdrogers.org.

Bible study at 8:30 a.m. precedes worship and is online at Google Meet. Wednesday night Bible study is at 7 p.m. at the church and on Google Meet.

Highland Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in Bella Vista, 1500 Forest Hills Blvd., will continue to present its services on its website or on YouTube (search "highlandchristianchurchbellavista"). A decision to reopen the church will be considered this week.

The Presbyterian Church of Bella Vista, 1880 Forest Hills Blvd., has returned to in-person worship at 10 a.m. Sunday. Seating is limited to maintain safe physical distancing, so please let us know you're coming to worship by calling the church office.

Watch the service live on the website or Facebook page. A recording will also be posted on Sunday afternoon. In-person Sunday school classes and other church activities will resume at a later date. No childcare is provided at this time.

Unity Church of the Ozarks, 2200 S.E. J St., Bentonville, continues the "Bundle up for Warmth" drive from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Dec. 4-5. The coat drive was so successful, members are collecting gloves, hand warmers, scarves, hats and socks. Please drop donations off at the church.

A Little Free Pantry stands by the front door of the church at 2200 S.E. J St. in Bentonville. Please help yourself when needed and help others by donating.

Village Bible Church in Bella Vista, 1591 Forest Hills Blvd., presents live worship service at 10:15 a.m. Sundays. Seating arrangements have been readjusted for social distancing. The service is live streamed on Facebook; Vimeo Vimeo.com/user42482704; and later in the day www.villagebibleefc.org; and audio of the live service can be heard on 90.3 FM in the south church parking lot.

The Oasis Food Pantry is open each Wednesday from 10 a.m. to noon for drive-through pickup.

WASHINGTON COUNTY

First Presbyterian Church in Springdale, 100 S. Gutensohn Road, hosts Sunday morning worship services, both in-person and livestreamed, beginning at 10:30 a.m. Online worship services are available on YouTube and through the church's website.

Nov. 29, the fifth Sunday of the month, has been designated as a Samaritan Sunday. Members are asked to prayerfully consider an additional offering to the Samaritan Fund to help those in need in our community.

The Blue Christmas worship service will begin at 6 p.m. Dec. 2. The church encourages members and friends who may be grieving this holiday season to join in this comforting service of worship, either in-person or via live broadcast on YouTube. All of the usual in-person worship protocols will be followed, including masks and social distancing, to ensure everyone's safety.

Weekday Zoom adult discipleship opportunities include Monday Lectionary at 10 a.m. Ladies Fellowship meets Wednesdays at 7 a.m. Thursday evenings at 6:30 p.m., Scarlett Morris leads a study group, Great Hymns of the Church. All Zoom information will be posted on the church website.

Christian Women's Connection brunch and program for December and January have been canceled. This is due to the spike in the Covid virus. We hope to see you all in February.
