Handweavers

The Northwest Arkansas Handweavers Guild will not meet on Oct. 10, in accordance with guidance relating to large group gatherings and covid-19. However, some smaller groups of weavers are meeting that day in outside locations where social distancing is possible.

October is traditionally a month of many arts and crafts fairs in Northwest Arkansas. One of the first fairs was founded by the Weavers Guild. Following a weaving school at the War Eagle Farm in the spring of 1954, the Guild invited other artists to join them for a show at the farm in October. The annual show was hosted by the Guild through 1957 and many of its members participated for several years following.
