Little Rock police arrested a man Thursday morning in the stabbing death of his girlfriend the night before, according to authorities.
Officers responded at 11:42 p.m. Wednesday to a call about an assault at Shadowlake Apartments, 13111 W. Markham St., where they found 18-year-old Trakeyah Thomas of Little Rock suffering from a serious injury, police said.
Thomas died at the scene, the release said.
Detectives determined Shamar Rumph, 24, who lives at the address, to be a suspect and detained him at 7:10 a.m. at 16724 Cantrell Road, according to a report.
Thomas was taken to the Pulaski County jail where he is held without bail on a first-degree murder charge.
